Myopia Treatment

Myopia Control

Myopia or nearsightedness is an increasingly prevalent condition that not only affects visual function, but can increase the risk of eye diseases as one gets older. Many interventions have been shown to reduce the progression of myopia, preserving vision and reducing the risk of vision loss over time.

The most common, corneal reshaping (also known as orthokeratology or ortho-k), uses a retainer lens to gradually and gently reshape the front surface of the eye (cornea) to temporarily correct myopia as your child sleeps.

CDC Recommendation

Under the recommendation of the Illinois Optometric Association, we have followed the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines for mask mandates in a medical setting, since the beginning of Covid.  The CDC recently lifted the mask mandate for medical facilities, except for hospitals and nursing homes.
At this time, we are no longer requiring masks to be worn in our office. Our main concern is for the health and safety of all our patients, so if you prefer the staff to wear a mask during your visit, please let us know.  As we have all learned, things can quickly change but for now we look forward to seeing everyone’s face and sharing our smiles!
We will remain by appointment only for all services and ask that you continue to call the office upon arrival. This has proven to be more efficient and allows us to better serve our patients and customers.  Sanitation processes and procedures will remain in place as we do our part in keeping everyone healthy.  If you are sick, we simply ask that you contact the office and reschedule your appointment.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in these ever-changing times.
